Jesus said: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
These words of Christ are final and without exception. It is therefore imperative that everyone inquire diligently, with regard to this experience.

You can DRIFT into Hell,
But you cannot DRIFT into Heaven!

Now, what is the food for
the inner man? Not prayer,
but the Word of God;
and here again, not the
simple reading of the Word
of God...but considering
what we read, pondering
over it, and applying it to
our hearts.

If a man be not absolutely determined to give up his sins and evil companions, and have his soul saved at all hazards, and at every expense, he will surely perish everlastingly. This requires a violent earnestness.

John 3;3: …verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God;

Nicodemus, according to the general sense of the nation, thought that when the Messiah came, and his kingdom was set up, they should all share in it, without any more ado; they being the descendants of Abraham, and having him for their father: but Christ assures him, that he must be "born again"; in distinction from, and opposition to his first birth by nature; in which he was vile, polluted, carnal, and corrupt, being conceived in sin, and shapen in iniquity, and was a transgressor from the womb, and by nature a child of wrath; and in opposition to his descent from Abraham, or being born of him, and of his seed; for this would be of no avail to him in this case, nor give him any right to the privileges and ordinances of the kingdom of God, or the Gospel dispensation; see Mt 3:9;

GO ON

J.O. McClurkan

You will only keep the grace you now have by going on and seeking more.  There are heights, depths, and breadths in the great Father’s heart that you know but little about.  Press on to be filled with all his fullness.  (Eph. 3:19.)  If I had but one message to holiness people, it would be, Go deeper – press on to know him in all his preciousness.  Exalt him more and more until your heart is a sea of glory – a garden where all the rich graces of the Spirit bloom, a temple filled with his beauty – yea, the palace from which the royal wealth of heaven’s King shall go forth to bless this old world in a thousand ways.

What Holiness means to me
George B. Ferguson

To say with deep sincerity and out of a pure heart, that, “I praise the Lord for wholly sanctifying my heart”, covers a multitude of expressions concerning holiness. The depth of meaning in the word “holiness” goes to the core of the individual personality; cleansing every root of our being, that we might be fashioned in the image of God.

Sin must be pardoned, and the impurity of the heart washed away, before any soul can possibly enter into the kingdom of God. As this new birth implies the renewing of the whole soul in righteousness and true holiness, it is not a matter that may be dispensed with: heaven is a place of holiness, and nothing but what is like itself can ever enter into it.

VOLKOME HEILIGMAKING

Press on to Sanctification
(By John Fletcher)

Entire sanctification is an instantaneous salvation – that act of the Holy Ghost, according to our faith, by which sin is entirely expelled from the soul, when the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin, and includes an instantaneous power then given, always to cleave to God.

"We are never so high as when we are on our knees..."
-Unknown Christian-

Address on Revivalduncan_campbell

"Wilt Thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Psalm 85.6).

These words of the Psalmist express the heart-cry of many of God's children today. There is a growing conviction everywhere, and especially among thoughtful people, that unless revival comes, other forces will take the field, that will sink us still deeper into the mire of humanism and materialism.

Heart Purity

"I looked... behold, a door was opened in heaven. .. and, behold a throne... and... I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment... and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God" (Revelation 4.1-5).

The language of the text is figurative, but the truth suggested comes into the practical experience of the Christian life. The words "clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold" are suggestive and speak of HEART PURITY.

Steadfastness in Conduct

I came across an arresting statement in the Book of Job: "My witness is in heaven, and my record is on high" (Job 16.19), of which the Gaelic version reads as follows: "My witness is in the heavens, and He who bears testimony of me is on high."

Enoch had this testimony "that he pleased God" (Heb. 11.5), and the prayer of the writer to the Hebrews is in the following words: "The God of peace ... make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in His sight" (Heb. 13.20, 21). This passage surely refers to the way we live and act, as those who profess to be followers of Christ.

Steadfastness In Conflict

"My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change" (Proverbs 24.21).

In the way to the Promised Land Israel had many trials to encounter. One of these was warfare with Amalek. The enemy tried hard to turn Israel aside and defeat her in her purpose. Israel had been redeemed from Egypt and was now on her way to Canaan, but the enemy was there to bar the way, and Israel must fight if she would win.

Steadfastness In Conviction

"My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change" (Proverbs 24.21).

During the Lewis revival I well recall the mighty impact made as the powerful breath of the Spirit touched community after community. Everywhere, men and women of all ages became convicted, and many came to a knowledge of the sovereign and saving grace of God.

Steadfastness Of Character

"My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change" (Proverbs 24.21).

In the reference given above we read of those who are given to change. That is the opposite of STEADFASTNESS, which is, without question, a prime virtue.

The Nature of a God-Sent Revival

We are the human agents through which revival is possible. Let me ask this question, "Are you in the place where God can trust you with revival?" He is sovereign. He is supernatural. But He comes down! And in His sovereign purpose and wise economy, He has placed this treasure in earthen vessels. Are you one that He can use? Are you one that He can trust? Are you in intimate fellowship with God?

The Price And Power Of Revival

"Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. Afterwards, I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; and was unknown by face unto the Churches of Judaea which were in Christ, but they had heard only, that he which persecuted us in times past now preaches the faith which once he destroyed. And they glorified God in me."-Galatians 1:20,24.

When God Stepped Down

Now, before I begin the story, I would like to say one thing, and that is; that I did not bring revival to Lewis. It has grieved my heart, again, and again to read articles about "The man who brought revival to Lewis". Notices on church boards, "Come, and hear the man, who brought revival to Lewis". My dear people, it's not true! I don't carry revival about with me in my pocket. Revival broke out in Lewis, sometime before I went to the island.

When the Mountains Flowed Down

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence. As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence. Isaiah 64:1-3
