Jesus said: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
These words of Christ are final and without exception. It is therefore imperative that everyone inquire diligently, with regard to this experience.

You can DRIFT into Hell,
But you cannot DRIFT into Heaven!

Now, what is the food for
the inner man? Not prayer,
but the Word of God;
and here again, not the
simple reading of the Word
of God...but considering
what we read, pondering
over it, and applying it to
our hearts.

Die beginsel van die wysheid is om die Here te vrees, en die vrees van die Here is om te haat wat sleg is (sonde).

If a man be not absolutely determined to give up his sins and evil companions, and have his soul saved at all hazards, and at every expense, he will surely perish everlastingly. This requires a violent earnestness.

Volle Oorgawe

John 3;3: …verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God;

Nicodemus, according to the general sense of the nation, thought that when the Messiah came, and his kingdom was set up, they should all share in it, without any more ado; they being the descendants of Abraham, and having him for their father: but Christ assures him, that he must be "born again"; in distinction from, and opposition to his first birth by nature; in which he was vile, polluted, carnal, and corrupt, being conceived in sin, and shapen in iniquity, and was a transgressor from the womb, and by nature a child of wrath; and in opposition to his descent from Abraham, or being born of him, and of his seed; for this would be of no avail to him in this case, nor give him any right to the privileges and ordinances of the kingdom of God, or the Gospel dispensation; see Mt 3:9;

You will only keep the grace you now have by going on and seeking more.  There are heights, depths, and breadths in the great Father’s heart that you know but little about.  Press on to be filled with all his fullness.  (Eph. 3:19.)  If I had but one message to holiness people, it would be, Go deeper – press on to know him in all his preciousness.  Exalt him more and more until your heart is a sea of glory – a garden where all the rich graces of the Spirit bloom, a temple filled with his beauty – yea, the palace from which the royal wealth of heaven’s King shall go forth to bless this old world in a thousand ways.

What Holiness means to me
George B. Ferguson

To say with deep sincerity and out of a pure heart, that, “I praise the Lord for wholly sanctifying my heart”, covers a multitude of expressions concerning holiness. The depth of meaning in the word “holiness” goes to the core of the individual personality; cleansing every root of our being, that we might be fashioned in the image of God.

Sin must be pardoned, and the impurity of the heart washed away, before any soul can possibly enter into the kingdom of God. As this new birth implies the renewing of the whole soul in righteousness and true holiness, it is not a matter that may be dispensed with: heaven is a place of holiness, and nothing but what is like itself can ever enter into it.

-Adam Clarke

Press on to Sanctification
(By John Fletcher)

Entire sanctification is an instantaneous salvation – that act of the Holy Ghost, according to our faith, by which sin is entirely expelled from the soul, when the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin, and includes an instantaneous power then given, always to cleave to God.

When you received Christ as your Saviour, several things took place in your life.

However, there are certain things God expects from you now.

Testimony - Doreen Tye PDF Print E-mail

There came a day in my life, as there has come to many people in all walks of life, when I heard the call of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Lord Jesus Christ, and through his mercy and wondrous grace, I accepted the invitation to become a subject of a Kingdom, of which, He said, there would be no end. (Luke 9:23; Rev. 19:16; Eph. 2:8-20; Luke 1:33)

When I entered His Kingdom and became his subject, He gave me a BOOK (the Bible) and said- “You have only to seek an audience with Me, and make your requests known to Me and I will hear your requests and answer, according to your need, and in accordance with this BOOK which I give you to read. (Josh. 1:8; 2 Tim. 3:15-17; Phil. 4:6-7; Phil. 4:19)

The King told me I would need to read this BOOK often, because it would be a “Lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path,” and “in keeping of it there would be great reward.” (Psm. 119:105; Psm. 19:11)

As I started to read this BOOK, I marveled that so many of the things it said were of my own experiences, and I saw that it spoke of others, who had also come into this Kingdom, and that how they too had made their requests known unto the King.  And as I read I began to understand. (Psm. 119)

Before I came into this Kingdom I had sometimes opened the BOOK but although I could understand the Words, they were meaningless to me, and dry. “For the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, neither can he know them, for they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Cor. 2:14)

As I continued in this Kingdom, and read this BOOK, I saw various instructions the King gave me. When I got discouraged, He assured me, and for every circumstance of my life I found there was an instruction from the King, and the Words He used always fitted my condition. I sometimes thought that there Words were written just for me alone, because they were so personally to me. And I found if I followed the instructions He gave me, they saved me much trouble, and sometimes heartache and disappoint-ment, and I saw that it did not matter what happened around me, that His Word said “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.” (Isa. 26:3-4)

And as I read further I saw the whole ‘plan’.  How I had entered a new life when I entered the Kingdom, and that I was now a “new creature in Christ Jesus,” about whom I discovered this Book was full. (2 Cor. 5:17)

Now I must tell you – for this is the very reason I was able to enter this Kingdom – that the Father of the King of this land sent the King, His Son, who will tell in His own words that:
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a certain King, which made a marriage for His Son, and sent forth His servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding.” (Matt. 22:2)

And from this story I saw that many made light of the invitation, and would not come, but I will forever be grateful that I heeded His call and accepted His invitation, for the Book told me that “as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believed on His Name.” And so I learned that I was not only a subject, but also a son, and that I obtained an inheritance in Him – “for the Spirit indeed beareth witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs of God and joint heirs of Christ.” (John 1:12-13; Rom. 8:16-17)

I can but feel sorry for those who have not heeded the call, because I am told that “in meekness I must instruct those that oppose themselves, if God, peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth, and that they might recover them-selves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” (2 Tim. 2:25-26)

And so I learned yet another truth – that there is a great and subtle enemy (Satan / the devil).  I am told throughout the Book, yea, and strongly warned of this deadly foe – that he goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, and it speaks plainly of his power.  He has many emissaries, and helpers, and it speaks of them as principalities and powers and rulers of the darkness of this world, as spiritual wicked-ness in high places. (1 Pet. 5:8;  Eph. 6:12)

Ans so I began to understand why so few people seemed interested in this wonderful Kingdom, and why they could not see how desirable it is, because I am told that “the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine unto them.”  And as I read these words I saw that the King wanted me to go to those that sit in darkness and the region of the shadow of death and take them His Word, because He said “the entrance of My Word giveth light.” (Matt. 4:16; Psm. 119:30)

Yes, in fact the King longed that there would be those that would “go into the world and preach the Gospel to every creature,” and He made it in His express command, because He said “If our Gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost,” and so He desired greatly that someone would go, and He said “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed, and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard and how shall they hear without a preacher, and how shall they preach, except they be sent?” I began to see that it was not enough that I was a son, but that now I was also a servant, a worker – because He said “we are workers together with God” and I saw that He wanted to send me and said “As my Father hath sent me, so I send you.” Then said I, “Here am I, send me.” (Mark 16:15; 2 Cor. 4:13; Isa. 6:8; John 20:21)

And then I saw that He had made ample provision for my needs in His service.  All the necessary ‘equipment’ was given.  He said that I would need ‘power’ and He encourage me to seek His power, saying “ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you” and “the works that I do shall ye do also,” and “these signs shall follow them that believe. They shall speak with new tongues, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not harm them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8; John 14:12; Mark 16:17)

And so there were my promises from the King, and He said “Freely ye have received, freely give.” (Matt. 10:8)

I am amazed that with all these wonderful promises and all the power and provision that the King has made, so few of His servants seemed to be making use of His ample equipment against the forces of the evil one. He rests not by day or by night against the inhabitants of the world or the subjects of the Heavenly Kingdom.  Then I saw how this one, our enemy is tying the hands of the servants of the King, and indeed their eyes are heavy with sleep. I saw how that their conscience has become weak and the voice of the Master has become dulled by reason of the many cares that this enemy has heaped upon these servants of the King.  I saw that the warning of the Master was being fulfilled and that “the cares of this life, and the deceitfulness of riches, and other things entering in, choke the Word and it becometh unfruitful.” (Matt. 24:12; Matt. 25:5; Luke 21:34; Mark 4:18-19)

I remembered the words of the King – “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.” And I found also that the oil in my lamp was burning very low, and I thought how necessary it is to take to heart again the words of the King – “watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation, and let him that standeth take heed lest he fall.” (Matt. 25:1-13; Mark 14:38; 2 Tim. 3:1)

I rejoiced to see that the King has made yet another provision for someone just as I, for He said “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.” I was so glad when I read these words in His Book, and I saw yet another promise – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (Isa. 40:30-31; 2 Chron. 7:14)

I saw how willing the King was to receive me.  He encouraged me to seek His throne afresh and promises to do great things if I did. He said “And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.” (Joel 2:24-25)

I determined that by the power and strength the King could supply, I would be a vessel unto honour, sanctified and meet for the Master’s use.  I saw that if I wanted to be of use to the King, I would have to put up a very great effort against this foe, and so my King told me the secret to do this thing, for He said “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” As I read these words, I had a great longing to do this, and I said to myself “this is the way” and my King echoed the words “This is the way, walk ye in it.” (2 Tim. 2:21; Rev. 12:11; Isa. 30:21)

And I saw that this in indeed the way for His servants to go, and I remembered His Word “All power is given unto me is heaven and in earth.” “be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.” “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Matt. 28:18; Rev. 2:10; Rev. 3:21; Rev. 22:11-12)

There came into my heart a great longing, that I would be counted amongst those who would be righteous still, and holy still, and that I would do His commandments that I would have the right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates of the city. (Rev. 22:14)

I read the words of the Apostle John “and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,” “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” (Rev. 21:10&23)

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (Rev. 22:17)

He which testifieth these things saith, SURELY I COME QUICKLY. Amen.
