Beyond Seduction (DVD)

We must be certain that what we believe is firmly based upon the clear teaching of God's Word alone. The only real remedy for deception and apostasy is a return to a true biblical foundation for Christian living. Now, in Beyond Seduction, Dave Hunt thoroughly explores the biblical and historical view of Christian teachings within the church.

Witnesses of Jehovah (DVD)

WITNESSES OF JEHOVAH goes behind the scenes to reveal how the Watchtower Society holds tyrannical control over the lives of its 3,400,000 members. The Watchtower is "big business." In the United States alone, over 1,200,000 Jehovah's Witnesses spend more than 184 million man-hours each year peddling a counterfeit gospel door-to-door.
WITNESSES OF JEHOVAH traces the history of the organization from  its first days, penetrating the schemes, the scams and the false prophecies used by this pseudo-Christian cult to extend its manipulative empire across the world.

The Bible vs the Book of Mormon (DVD)

The book of Mormon claims to be "a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible." Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon declare themselves to be ancient, historical, and reliable rules of  faith--the very Word of God.
It's an important question. It's an eternal question. This presentation puts the Bible and the Book of Mormon to the same tests. History, archaeology, textual criticism, and other disciplines combine to shed light on what is true...and what is false.
This presentation leaves no question as to the truth and accuracy of the Word of God and the falseness and inaccuracies found in the book of Mormon.

Witnessing

There are two ways to witness. The first is the most direct and is similar to what a street evangelist would do. This is not normally the approach you take with coworkers, fellow students, next door neighbors, or family members. If you have the time, the most effective method of reaching someone for Christ is to:

SHOULD EVERY CHRISTIAN WIN SOULS?

Dr. Michael E. Todd

Many people today say, "Why should I win souls?" "Isn't the preacher
supposed to do that?" Yes! He is but so is every Christian. There are
six basic reasons why every Christian should win souls.

1. BECAUSE SATAN SEEKS TO DESTROY MEN.
2. BECAUSE HELL IS REAL.
3. BECAUSE GOD SAVED US.
4. BECAUSE THE TIME IS SHORT.
5. BECAUSE WE NEED TO BE IN FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD.
6. BECAUSE CHRIST WAS OUR EXAMPLE.

Sacred Picklocks

Whenever you cannot understand a text, open your Bible, bend your knee, and prayover that text; and if it does not split intoatoms and open itself, try again. If prayer does not explain it, it is one of the things God did not intend for you to know, and you may becontent to be ignorant of it.Prayer is the key that opens the cabinets of mystery!Prayer and faith are sacred picklocks that can open secrets, and obtain great treasures! There is no collegefor holy education like that of the blessed Spirit, for He is an ever-present tutor, to whom we haveonly to bend the knee, and He is at our side, the great expositor of truth.

How To Have A Tract Ministry

A tract is a short, simple presentation of the gospel message, printed in convenient pocket size, designed for easy distribution and use. There is probably no easier, more convenient way to share the Good News of Jesus Christ than through the use of gospel tracts. Many people have been led to Christ in this way. Consider these features of such a ministry:

Tips for Tract Evangelism...

tracthandout1

* Always have at least one available in your purse, pocket, or wallet.  You never know when you'll need one!

* Always offer a tract. Never force it upon someone. Simply ask, "Do you have one of these?"

* If there is time to walk someone through the tract, then do so. If you feel led, point out to them the salvation prayer and page number. It may be beneficial to explain to them that the exact words of the prayer are not critical. Instead, they should pour out their heart to the Lord.

* Don’t forget kids. They are typically the easiest age group to reach. Consider having age appropriate tracts on hand for them.

* If you come across someone who is a believer, offer one or two tracts to them as tools they can share with others.

* Provide and encourage the use of tracts to your small groups and Sunday School classes to hand out during the week. A tract can easily be used to ‘walk’ someone through the Gospel when able. Then leave it with the person.

* Neighborhood get-togethers offer great opportunities for outreach. Hand out tracts at these events, or hand them out together with cookies or other gifts, especially around holidays.

The Use Of Tracts
RA Torrey

Comparatively few
Christians realize the
importance of tract work. I
had been a Christian a good
many years, and a minister
of the Gospel several years,
before it ever entered my
head that tracts were of much
value in Christian work. I had
somehow grown up with the
notion that tracts were all
rubbish, and therefore I did
not take the trouble to read
them, and far less did I take
the trouble to circulate them,
but I found out that I was
entirely wrong. Tract work
has some great advantages
over other forms of Christian
work.

Individual Work

Henry Clay Trumbull pioneered in personal soul-winning and set an example for all Christians to follow. As he observed other professing Christians, he concluded that this common failure of believers to speak to others about Christ was a great sin.

Qualifications for Soul Winning
Dwight L. Moody

1. Shake off the vipers that are in the Church, formalism, pride,
and self-importance, etc.
2. It is the only happy life to live for the salvation of souls.
3. We must be willing to do little things for Christ.
4. Must be of good courage.
5. Must be cheerful.

BiographyD.L._Moody

Dwight Lyman Moody was born the sixth child of Edwin and Betsy Holton Moody in Northfield, Mass. on February 5, 1837. Dwight’s formal education ended in the fifth grade, and he rapidly tired of life on the farm. He left home at age 17, seeking employment in Boston. Failing to secure a desirable position, he asked his uncle, Samuel Holton, for a job. Reluctantly, Uncle Samuel hired him to work in the retail shoe store he owned. However, to keep young Moody out of mischief, employment was conditional upon his attendance at the Mt. Vernon Congregational Church.

Bible Marking

An old writer said that some books are to be tasted, some to be swallowed, some to be chewed and digested. The Bible is one that you can never finish with. It is like a bottomless well; you can always find fresh truth gushing forth from its pages.
"No Scripture," said Spurgeon, "is exhausted by a single explanation."

Biblical Word Study

One way to study the Bible is to take one word and follow it up with the help of a concordance.  Or take just one word that runs through a book.
Some time ago I was wonderfully blessed by taking the seven "Blesseds" of the Revelation.
If God did not wish us to understand the book of Revelation, He would not have given it to us at all. A good many say it is so dark and mysterious that common readers cannot understand it. Let us only keep digging away at it, and it will unfold itself by and by.

Christian Love

It speaks in Galatians about love, the fruit of the Spirit being love, joy, peace, gentleness, long suffering, meekness and temperance.
The way this writer has put it and I think it is very beautiful is that joy is love exultant, peace is love in repose, and long suffering is love enduring.
It is all love, you see, a gentleness is love in society, and goodness is love in action, and faith is love on the battle-field, and meekness is love at school, and temperance is love in training.

Does God answer Prayer?

I suppose there has been no word on Christians' lips so frequently at this time as the word "prayer," and there is not one in this hall who has not thought often, during the last forty-eight hours, of the importance of prayer.

Enduement for Service

I suppose if I could put the question and ask those who are filled with the Spirit to respond, very few if any would be heard from.   And yet we read in Ephesians 5:18 that this is a command: "Be ye filled with the Spirit." God commands us to be filled with the Spirit; and if we are not filled, it is because we are living beneath our privileges.

Faith

I remember a child that lived with her parents in a small village. One day the news came that her father had joined the army (it was at the beginning of our [Civil] war), and a few days after the landlord came to demand the rent. The mother told him she hadn't got it, and that her husband had gone into the army. He was a hard-hearted wretch, and he stormed and said that they must leave the house; he wasn't going to have people who couldn't pay the rent.

Finding your picture

You know I have an idea that the Bible is like an album. I go into a man's house, and while waiting for him, I take up an album and open it.I look at a picture. "Why, that looks like a man I know." I turn over and look at another.  "Well, I know that man." By-and-by I come upon another. "Why, that man looks like my brother." I am getting pretty near home. I keep turning over the leaves. "Well, I declare, there is a man who lives in the street I do; why, he is my next-door neighbor."

Greater Work

The witness of the Spirit is the witness of power. Jesus said, "The works that I do shall ye do also, and greater works than these shall ye do because I go to the Father." I used to stumble over that. I didn’t understand it. I thought, what greater work could any man do than Christ had done? How could any one raise a dead man who had been laid away in the sepulcher for days, and who had already begun to turn back to dust; how with a word could he call him forth?

Hell

A man came to me the other day and said: "I like your preaching. You don't preach hell, and I supposeyou don't believe in one." Now I don't want any one to rise up in the Judgment and say that I was not afaithful preacher of the Word of God. It is my duty to preach God's Word just as He gives it to me; Ihave no right to pick out a text here and there, and say, "I don't believe that." If I throw out one text Imust throw out all, for in the same Bible I read of rewards and punishments, Heaven and hell.

Humility

I suppose Isaiah thought he was as good as most men in his day, and perhaps he was a good deal better than most men, but when he saw the Lord, he cried, "Woe is me, for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips."

Identity and Personality

In 1st John 5:7, we read: "There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one." By the Father is meant the first Person, Christ, the Word is the second, and the Holy Spirit, perfectly fulfilling His own office and work in union with the Father and the Son, is the third.

Joy in Persecution

"Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake. Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

None of Self

Then you will find all through the Scriptures, when men were filled with the Holy Spirit, they preached Christ and not themselves.

Not Easily Offended

In the 119th Psalm and the 165th verse, we find "Great peace have they who love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." The study of God’s Word will secure peace. You take Christians who are rooted and grounded in the Word of God, and you find they have great peace; but it is these who don’t study their Bible, and don’t know their Bible, who are easily offended when some little trouble comes, or some little persecution, and their peace is all disturbed; just a little breath of opposition, and their peace is all gone.

Obedience Explained

Suppose I say to my boy, "Willie, I want you to go out and bring me a glass of water." He says he doesn't want to go.

Popular Excuses to Avoid Salvation

Some people are always making excuses for not doing their duty, and especially for not coming to Christ. If I asked you to come to Christ, you would be ready to give some excuse for not accepting the invitation. I never saw an unsaved man in my life but had some excuse - never! and if you don't have one ready, Satan will be right by you to help you to make one. He is good at that sort of thing. That has been his occupation the last six thousand years - helping men to make excuses.

Qualifications for Soul Winning

1. Shake off the vipers that are in the Church, formalism, pride, and self-importance, etc.
2. It is the only happy life to live for the salvation of souls.
3. We must be willing to do little things for Christ.
4. Must be of good courage.
5. Must be cheerful.

Repentance

You will find my text tonight in the seventeenth chapter of Acts, part of the thirtieth verse: "And now commandeth all men everywhere to repent." I have heard a number of complaints about the preaching here in the Tabernacle, that repentance has not been touched upon.  The fact is that I have never had very great success in preaching upon repentance.

The Seven "I Will’s" of Christ

When a man says, "I will," it may not mean much. We very often say "I will" when we don’tmean to fulfill what we say. But when we come to the "I will" of Christ, He means to fulfill it.Everything He promised to do, He is able and willing to accomplish. I cannot find anyScripture where He says "I will" do this or "I will" do that but that it will be done.

The Blood

Some inquirers come to me over and over again, and never seem to get on, but go round and round like a horse in a mill. They don't rest where God rests - in the blood of Christ. Blood runs throughout the whole Bible.

The Holy Ghost

POWER is the special and peculiar prerogative of God, and God alone. "Twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God." God is God; and power belongeth to him. If he delegates a portion of it to his creatures, yet still it is his power.

To the Afflicted

If I were to ask this audience what Christ came into this world for, every one of you would say to save sinners, and then you would stop.  A great many think that is all Christ came to do - to save sinners.

What must I do to be Saved

Suppose you do not want to hear a sermon (on this last night) so much as you want to know how to be saved. I want, if I can, to answer that question, "What must I do to be saved?" There is no question that can come before us in this world that is so important; and I think that there is not a man in this audience to-night who does not feel interested in it.
